Final infos: Ice Climbing Course 2023
The final infos about the Ice climbing course February 2023.
Here is the final information for the trip:
We plan to take two novices per guide, potentially two more if the conditions allow enough space for top-roping, too. As we have three guides (Marc, Fred and Ingmar), we can take up to 6-8 participants. We booked a minibus for nine, so potentially we can go with one minibus.
The languages used will be German/Luxembourgish and English.
- we will be going to Pitztal in Austria. It's around 7-8h drive from here. Anything closer by has no ice... We will be sleeping in the Gletscherchalet (Stillebach 250 A-6481 St. Leonhard · Tirol · Österreich). You don't need to bring towels or bed linens, everything is there. There seems to be a Sauna, so if you like that don't forget to bring maybe an additional towel and potentially swimming pants, we don't know the rules there.
- we will meet on the parking of the Maison Relais in Niederanven (Rue du Coin, 6999 Niederanven) on Thursday at 0645. See also the picture below. You'll see the minibus at the beginning of the parking. Please be on time so we can leave latest at 0700. We have one minibus and one car (from Sime). We plan to still climb on Sunday, so we will come back late.
- Food: in order to keep costs low we will organize breakfast (muesli and milk, maybe some bread locally) and dinner (noodles, rice with some sauce and lots of wine), so you will have to organize your lunch and snacks during the day. Don't forget to bring a thermos flask and some tea bags.
- carefully check again through the gear list that we sent and see whether you have everything necessary. Pack really warm clothes, it is going to be cloudy and around -5 to -10 degrees.
- who still needs some gear? Please send me a whatsapp message or sms and I can try to see what to do about it.
- If you have some questions, send me a message via 00352 621264575.
Very much looking forward to seeing you all on Thursday and to have a great ice climbing trip!
All the best,
Fred, Marc and Ingmar
